Clarriott Whippets Puppy Pricing & Deposit Policy

Our goal is to make puppy pricing as fair and consistent as possible for every family on our waiting list.

Backed by current research and decades of experience, we invest extensively in health testing, careful breeding decisions, puppy development, socialization, and lifetime breeder support. Our puppies are priced toward the top of the market to reflect the quality and level of care that goes into producing and raising them.

Puppy prices may change from time to time to reflect market conditions and the costs associated with responsibly breeding and raising our puppies.

Pricing & Price Protection

The puppy price quoted in your initial email becomes your protected price when your required waiting-list deposit is received within 7 days.

General price increases do not automatically change your protected price. If you decline a qualifying puppy offer and remain on our waiting list, your protected price advances by one pricing tier. This does not necessarily mean the current advertised puppy price; you move only to the next pricing tier following your protected price, regardless of how many general price increases have occurred.

A qualifying offer is an offer of a puppy of the sex requested when you joined our waiting list. Puppies are matched to your preferred color whenever possible, but color is not guaranteed. Later changes or narrowing of your color preference do not change what constitutes a qualifying offer. Declining a puppy of a sex you did not request does not count as a pass.

We do not individually notify waiting-list families of general price changes or pricing-tier advancements. You are welcome to contact us at any time to confirm your current protected price.

After 10 qualifying puppy offers have been declined, your waiting-list placement ends and all funds paid are forfeited.

Deposits & Waiting-List Placement

Your position on our waiting list is determined by the date your deposit is received.

If we are unable to provide a qualifying puppy within the estimated timeframe given in our initial email and you choose to leave the list, 100% of your deposit will be refunded.

If you cancel before receiving a qualifying puppy offer, your deposit will be refunded minus a $100 administrative fee.

Declining a qualifying offer does not cancel your place on the list. You may continue waiting for a future litter, with your protected price advancing by one pricing tier as described above.

If you cancel your waiting-list placement after receiving a qualifying offer, funds already paid are non-refundable but may be used as a credit toward another Clarriott Whippets puppy for one year. After one year, the credit expires and all funds are forfeited.

Accepting a Litter

When we have the requested sex available, we will contact you to determine whether you are ready to accept placement in that litter. At this stage you are accepting a place in the litter, not a specific puppy.

Once accepted, an additional $1,000 payment toward the purchase price is due within 5 days.

If that payment is not received, your place in the litter may be released to another waiting family. You will move to a future litter, your existing deposit will remain on account, and your protected price will advance by one pricing tier.

Puppies are evaluated as they develop, including temperament and personality testing, and this information is used along with your household, lifestyle, and preferences to help guide puppy matching.

Final Payment & Go-Home

Each litter is given a designated go-home weekend, generally the weekend closest to approximately 8 weeks and 4 days of age. Families are normally notified when puppies are approximately 4–5 weeks old.

Your puppy must be paid in full no later than the designated go-home weekend. If picking up that weekend, the balance may be paid at pickup. If pickup or transportation is scheduled for a later date, final payment is still due during go-home weekend. Puppies that have not been paid in full will not be held.

We provide a 7-day complimentary grace period after the designated go-home date for families who need a little additional time to arrange pickup.

Beginning on the 8th day, Extended Puppy Care is $100 per day.

Extended Puppy Care is more than traditional boarding. Once littermates have gone home, the remaining puppy requires individualized care and continued development, including outdoor potty training on a regular schedule, individual crate training, leash training, socialization, household integration, interaction with our adult dogs, feeding, cleaning, and supervision.

After the complimentary grace period, any additional veterinary or routine care required because of the extended stay—including vaccinations, deworming, or veterinary examinations—is also the buyer’s responsibility.

If we delay your puppy’s departure because the puppy is sick or injured, no Extended Puppy Care fee will be charged for that delay and veterinary expenses associated with that condition remain our responsibility. We will not knowingly send a sick or injured puppy home.

Transportation

All transportation expenses are the buyer’s responsibility. Any veterinary health certificate or other veterinary travel documentation required for the buyer, a flight nanny, ground nanny, or other approved transportation arrangement is also the buyer’s responsibility and will be charged at our veterinarian’s current rate.

If we personally transport your puppy, the puppy purchase price and quoted transportation charge must be paid in full before we depart.

Inactive Waiting-List Placements

It is your responsibility to keep your contact information current and respond when we contact you regarding your waiting-list status or an available litter.

If a communication requiring a response about your placement goes unanswered, the date of that communication begins the inactivity period. After 12 months without a response, your placement moves to stagnant status and your protected puppy price ends. Funds already paid remain available as a credit for another 12 months and may be applied toward a puppy at the price then in effect.

After that additional 12 months without contact, the credit expires and all funds paid are forfeited.
