🐾 A Different Option for the Right Home

While most of our puppies go to their new homes at 8–9 weeks of age, we occasionally have trained puppies or adult Whippets available.

These opportunities are limited and depend on individual circumstances, but for the right home, they can be a wonderful fit.

🐾 What to Expect with a Trained Whippet

Puppies listed as “trained” have had additional time with us and have begun developing important life skills.

This may include:

• potty training
• crate training
• leash training
• basic commands such as sit, down, and sometimes stay or come

Each dog will have a detailed description outlining their current level of training and personality.

As with all of our placements, we carefully match each Whippet to the home that best suits them. For example, if you are looking for a calm, easygoing companion, we will not place a high-energy puppy in that environment.

🐾 Adult Whippets

From time to time, we may also place adult Whippets.

These may include:

• retired show dogs
• dogs we’ve held back for evaluation
• or individuals whose circumstances have changed

Each listing will include full details, including training, temperament, and the reason for placement.

🐾 Application and Placement Process

If you are interested in a trained puppy or adult Whippet, we ask that you contact us first.

Once we’ve connected, we’ll guide you through the next steps and confirm whether it’s the right time to move forward.

Deposits:

• are accepted after confirmation
• are refundable or transferable depending on circumstances

For adult Whippets, we take additional steps to ensure a successful placement.

This may include:

• multiple meet-and-greet visits
• preference for homes within driving distance
• ongoing communication after placement

Adult dogs will be spayed or neutered prior to placement and may remain on a co-ownership agreement until both parties are confident in the match.

🐾 What Goes Home With Your Whippet

Each trained puppy or adult Whippet will go home with items to help them transition comfortably, including:

• AKC registration paperwork (if applicable)
• martingale collar and leash
• familiar items such as toys or bedding
• starter food supply
• veterinary records and vaccination schedule
• signed contract and care materials
• ongoing breeder support

🐾 Preparing for Pickup

To help your Whippet settle in safely, we recommend bringing:

• a secure travel crate
• towels or paper towels for the trip
• food and water bowls for longer travel

Adult Whippets will also go home with familiar items to ease the transition.

🐾 Our Commitment to Responsible Placement

Every Whippet placed through Clarriott Whippets is done with care and intention.

Our contract includes:

• AKC registration (limited for puppies, Full for desexed adults)
• a return policy requiring the dog to come back to us if needed
• continued support for the life of the dog
